Tropical Luxe Themed Wedding at The Cow Shed Crail

Sometimes you meet a couple, and everything that comes out of their mouth is just a dream. Becca and Andy were exactly that; a couple with incredible wedding plans, brilliant vision, and the perfect attitude towards their day too.

Their wedding will go down in history as Wedding Styling 101 with its über-cool tropical luxe theme. They mixed jungle-style fronds and greenery with neon signs and a whole host of furniture and trinkets which they’d been lovingly hunting and collecting (and storing in their spare room, which Andy is now very happy to report is clear and back to its original use again) – the result was a super welcoming, super homely but exceptionally stylish wedding day that really felt like ‘them’.

They got married at The Cow Shed Crail, a stunning Scottish DIY venue in Fife. Not only is it simultaneously full of character and a blank canvas for you to put your own stamp on, but the team there could not be more helpful and friendly. As a dry-hire venue, it’s definitely worth getting a coordinator for the day, to ensure you, your partner, or any of your family and friends don’t have to take a break from the party to just check in or anything.

Becca and Andy’s engagement period was 2 years long which, on the one hand, meant that they had plenty of time to get stuff together, and to enjoy doing so too (though Becca warns that wedding planning has periods of loads of activity, and then fallow times with nothing happening at all, which is so true!) The flipside of that, however, is that no matter how long your engagement is, your wedding day is always a finite amount of time! Making 2 years worth of painstakingly prepared plans happen in just 24 hours can seem daunting, but Becca and Andy had been on it from the start, and knew that a wedding co-ordinator could help bring together their hard work seamless on the day.

I was absolutely honoured to come on board to help Becca and Andy with my ‘final month of wedding co-ordination’ service, which sees me taking the majority of plans over in the last few weeks before the day, nailing final logistics, and coordinating jobs on the day too. I was especially honoured to be doing so for Becca and Andy as they’d planned so much themselves to ensure that the day felt like them – to be trusted with their vision on the day was so wonderful!

As well as all the exceptional décor they’d gathered for their tropical luxe wedding paradise, they also had a couple of different musical elements and a glitter bar for their guests, on top of, of course, drinks, food, and dancing. I spent the day behind the scenes, ensuring that all of this ran smoothly for them, so that they could just relax and enjoy. They’d expected a few people to get involved with the glitter bar after the evening drinks, but when Becca and Andy came back from photos with the wonderful Burfly around 3.30pm, they were surprised and thrilled to see their guests with glitter beards, mohicans, and monobrows – so I can confirm their guests definitely enjoyed it!
