Wedding with Smoke Bombs + Funk, Soul Band + Massive Party

What happens when two incredible musicians fall in love and decide to get married? The most incredible wedding celebration with the biggest party, that’s what. I can’t emphasise how big a party this wedding was. There’s no doubting the root of the joyous atmosphere. Uno and Dade are a couple made for each other. It stands to reason their wedding was a true celebration and reflection of their shared love as well as their shared faith in God. This gorgeous pair have lived in Scotland for a number of years now. It’s home away from home for them. With this in mind, they were always destined to hold one almighty party in Glasgow. Before the launch of their Scottish wedding, the pair kicked things off back home with a traditional Nigerian wedding in their village earlier in the year. This ran over a few days. Needless to say, by the time their Scottish wedding arrived, Uno and Dade were thoroughly warmed up to host one almighty bash. The couple’s venue, the iconic Grand Central Hotel, was awash with vibrant colour. It was amplified by their family and friends who travelled from around Africa and Scotland. The outfit situation was the most impressive I’ve seen. They injected colour into an otherwise damp and miserable Glasgow evening. Stealing away close to midnight with their super talented photographer, Euan Robertson and heavyweight of the wedding film world, Tom J Armstrong, they let off colourful smoke bombs before shooting back indoors to jump back onto the dance floor. Another notable feature of their wedding was the music. It was woven through the day and was the not-so-silent third person in the relationship. This began with their ceremony which was absolutely rooted in their shared Christian faith. Their church was involved in raising the roof and setting the tone for everything else that was to follow. I’ve never heard (or seen) a more beautiful rendition of ‘Jesus Loves Me’ than I did at their ceremony. A few other notable musical high points included: Uno and Dade performing; soul and funk Nick Bruce and His Blinding Lights bringing the party to Glasgow Grand Central. Uno and Dade made sure everyone had oodles of energy to enjoy their joy-filled celebration. The brilliant Bespoke catered for wedding breakfast. A friend of the family put on a fabulous African buffet in the evening. Everyone partied into the small hours of the morning, making memories they’ll cherish. Thank you forever, Uno and Dade. Being your planner was the most wonderful rollercoaster ride; one I’d jump on again and again and again.
